Michael Annett Kentucky Preview

Michael Annett’s best finish in eight starts at Kentucky is fourth, coming in 2012. He has five top-10 finishes there as well, including three seventh-place results.

A 15th-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway last week secured his playoff spot, and Annett will begin the seven-race stretch in 12th, 24 points behind the leader.

Annett’s average finish in NXS races at Kentucky is 12.9, and he was 16th there earlier this season. He has also led five laps on the 1.5-mile oval.

Quote: “Getting into the playoffs was our goal from the start of the season. We were safe if we finished (at Chicagoland) and kept the fenders on it. We didn’t want to be the final spot, but there was a whole lot more to lose than gaining one spot in the playoffs. These Pilot Flying J team guys worked their tails off all season to get us to this point, but now it’s no-holds- barred and we’re going to go for it. The past month was all about not having a big issue. We were a little more defensive than we’d like to have been, but now, we have nothing to lose.”
