Michael Annett Kentucky Preview

Michael Annett has earned a top-five and five top-10 finishes in nine NXS starts at Kentucky Speedway, topped by a fourth-place run in June 2012.

Annett has an average finishing position of 13.2 on the 1.5- mile oval, which is his best on that type of track in the NXS, and second-best overall, among active tracks, behind a 12.8 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

His 11th-place run at Daytona moved Annett from 16th to 13th in the series point standings, 42 points out of the top 12 with 10 races until the Playoff field is set.

Annett has finished seventh at Kentucky on three occasions, in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

Michael Annett Quote: “We had a solid run at Daytona and finally had some luck go our way in some of those big crashes. I said coming in that Daytona was a place where we could make some luck, and it turned out that way. Heading to Kentucky this weekend, our No. 5 Pilot Flying J team has a chance to add to that, because we run pretty well here. There’s something about this track that fits my style, and we’re looking to chop more points off our margin to 12th place.”
