Michael Annett Pocono Preview

Michael Annett finished 13th in last year’s race at Pocono, his lone start at the 2.5-mile track in the Xfinity Series.

On ovals 2.5 miles or greater, Annett’s average finish at Pocono (13.0) is his best, just edging Indianapolis Motor Speedway (13.3). He has a top-five and five top-10 finishes on those tracks in his career.

His 12th-place run at Charlotte was Annett’s best result of the season to date.

The Iowa native is 13th in points, just 19 points out of the top 12, with three of his best tracks coming up next on the schedule in Pocono, Michigan and Iowa.

Michael Annett Quote: “Charlotte was a good race for us, and could have been even better, finish-wise, if a couple of things had gone differently. For us, it was a good momentum builder. We were running in the top 10 at the end at Charlotte, and that is very important as we chase the Playoffs over this stretch. We’ve got speed in the car, and now we need to find the breaks necessary to get in. Pocono is a great place to start.”
