Michael Annett Dover Preview

Michael Annett’s third-place run in the fall 2012 event at Dover International Speedway is his best finish in 11 NXS starts on the 1-mile oval. He was 14th there in the spring.

The 31-year-old has completed all but 10 of the 2,214 laps run in his 11 NXS starts at the Monster Mile.

After finishing 16th at Kentucky in the first NXS Playoff race, Annett is 11th in points and 12 markers from eighth, the transfer spot for the next round.

In nine races this season on tracks measuring 1 mile or less, Annett has four top-10 finishes.

Quote: “We’ve been pretty good on tracks this size this season, and I’ve run well at Dover in the past, so we’re going into this weekend with the idea that we’re going to step up and earn a good finish. Going into the playoffs, we knew we needed to be spot-on and earn the points we need to make it to the second round, and we came up a little short at Kentucky. Dover is fast and things happen quickly, so our Pilot Flying J Chevrolet needs to stay ahead of the game and get as many points as we can.”
