Michael Annett Daytona Preview

The summer Daytona race is a strong suit for Michael Annett, as he has logged his best two NXS finishes in that event. Annett was third in the 2012 race and sixth a year earlier. He finished 14th earlier this season in his first race with JRM.

In 11 NXS starts at the 2.5-mile superspeedway, Annett has a top-five and two top-10 finishes. This season on restrictor-plate tracks, Annett has an average finish of 10.5. His last plate start, at Talladega in May, resulted in a seventh-place finish.

Last week at Iowa Speedway, Annett earned his best finish of the season, placing sixth.

Quote: “I’ve always loved racing at Daytona, and coming off a sixth- place run at Iowa last week, we’re going there with some momentum. Jason (Stockert) and the Pilot Flying J team are really making good strategy calls to put us in position to capitalize, and Daytona is a place where we’ll need some strategy to stay up near the front. JR Motorsports always has great restrictor-plate cars with good speed, and that’s what we need to have a good weekend.”
